Call for South East Water to get a legal say on housing

Posted on 10th August, 2026

Calls have been made at Kent County Council for South East Water to have a legal say in Housing Developments. Currently only Waste Water companies are Statutory Consultees for Housing Development and of course in Hadlow we have a seperate company for Waste Water to Supply and so SEW are not consulted.

Obviously the Government don't want SEW to have a veto on their plans for 20,000 house so Labour MP's have been rallying to reject this.

Hoping everyone is looking forward to drinkling recycled sewage in the years to come unless new Water Storage facilities are created in North West Kent.

Of course sometimes MP's will also say what interviews and voters want to hear. Heres Former Secretary of State for Housing Steve Reed MP one month before he was replaced in the role - nothing to do with this comment we are sure.
